We’re excited to share an update on our ongoing Resident Information Sessions! The response from our community has been fantastic, and we’re making significant progress as this is the first step in the application process for future residents at Karwick Village.
These sessions are not only an essential first step in learning about our Village, but are a requirement to begin the application process. They provide a comprehensive introduction to who we are and how we’ll operate at Karwick Village as a community.
Where We Stand
As of September 15th, we’ve completed 10 sessions in both Michigan City and La Porte with impressive participation:
- 109 registered attendees have joined us
- 22 walk-ins have discovered and participated in our sessions
- Total community engagement: 131 participants
What We Cover in These Sessions
During each session, we dive deep into Karwick Village, covering:
- Our Community: Learn about our values, culture, and what daily life might look like in our Village
- The Cooperative Board: Understand our governance structure and how decisions are made democratically and with participation from future residents.
- How Cooperatives Work: Get a comprehensive overview of cooperative principles and how they shape everything we do at Karwick Village
These sessions aren’t just informational; they’re designed to help future residents determine whether Karwick Village is the right fit for them and whether they’re ready to adopt the cooperative lifestyle.
What’s Coming Up
We still have four sessions remaining, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved if you haven’t already. Whether you’re interested in registering in advance, which is preferred (Click here to register), or choose to drop in as a walk-in, we welcome all participants. Remember, attending one of these sessions is mandatory before you can move forward with your application.
