We are thrilled to announce an exciting addition to our team that marks a significant step forward in our Karwick Village project. Jimmy Pressel has joined our organization to oversee and provide expert guidance on the construction and site development of our first cooperative community. This announcement comes as we begin to shift into readying the site for development and hope to begin construction.
With decades of experience and a proven track record of success in the construction industry, Jimmy brings his invaluable expertise to our team. His comprehensive understanding of construction management, site development, and best building practices aligns perfectly with our vision for creating high-quality, affordable housing solutions that strengthen our community.
The Karwick Village cooperative community project represents more than just buildings – it’s a testament to our dedication to creating sustainable, inclusive neighborhoods where families can thrive. Jimmy’s leadership will be instrumental in turning this vision into reality.
We recently sat down with Jimmy to learn more about what inspired him to join our mission and his vision for the future of affordable housing in our community. Here’s what he shared:
How do you see your construction expertise specifically benefiting our mission to create affordable housing in our community?
“Growing up in the construction industry I’ve seen many different ways to build a house. Through the years I’ve built a foundation of knowledge on the best practices to build a home. I’m able to look at projects and implement cost-saving ideas while not sacrificing the build quality. I want to provide an affordable home but also one built on a solid lasting foundation. Being in the industry, I’m constantly looking into new materials and methods to build a more sustainable home.”
What aspect of our organization’s vision for affordable housing resonates most strongly with you?
“I feel the idea of keeping the homes affordable in the long term is a key element needed for the community. Having the ability to keep pricing down indefinitely is a needed solution when talking about affordable housing. Along with that, I feel building a sustainable home to help combat energy use is also a key component. I really like being part of building a community focused on sustainability and looking at the long term, not just what’s happening now.”
Why do you believe this particular moment is important for creating more affordable housing in our community?
“Having a background in residential home building has allowed me to see trends across both ends of the spectrum. As material and labor prices continue to increase, the need for truly affordable housing only becomes more apparent. Having villages like this getting underway now is one of the best ways to get ahead of those inevitable price increases.”
